The man behind the vision. A native of Montclair, New Jersey (located on the outskirts of New York City) artist Fard Long moved to Southern California in 2014 to pursue his film and artistic career. His studies at the International Academy of Film and Television in Burbank, California inspired him to create visual images of brilliant contrasting colors with abstract forms. Using acrylic paint and mixed media, artist Fard Long combined the animated forms of people and objects into his colorful works.

For his first solo exhibition at the Walt Girdner Gallery, artist Fard Long chose to present his images of New York City entitled LOVE WAS COOL (2018). This exhibition depicts NYC, the city that never sleeps and the fast pace motion of the people and objects that occupy it.

After spending some time in Southern California, Fard moved to Oregon to immerse himself in the artistic community in portland then he relocated to the rural Jacksonville to creatively find more inspiration in the quietness of the woods.

Later he returned to New jersey/New York area and began working with artist’s at Pratt institute studios in Brooklyn, NY. Through collaboration and critique Fard furthered his artistic prowess ,which led him to travel to London (2019) where he explored the city and various museums.

Then after the pandemic (2022) Fard re-located to Toronto for a artist residency in summer hill, for the year he worked on many mural size abstract works, defying limitations.

Finally he returned to the states(2023) and continued to explore his love for artistic expression and expansion through painting, film and apparel.

Currently residing in Philadelphia (2024), Fard Long love story for artistic inspiration, expression and expansion continues.
